PostSubject: Baby found dead in car in Rockhampton   May 26th 2010, 2:14 pm

Police are interviewing the family of a baby girl found dead in a car at a Rockhampton home in central Queensland.

Officers received a call from paramedics just after 2pm (AEST) on Wednesday about the discovery of a dead nine-month-old baby girl.

Police say the baby died in a car parked at a residence in Chalmers Street, Norman Gardens, in Rockhampton.

A police spokeswoman told AAP a number of people, including the girl's family, were assisting police with their investigation.

dont people realise, kids and cars just dont mix, i get paranoid when cohen closes a door on the car when im putting them in and have to duck back inside to get something they need, let alone just leave them in there all locked up

this is the third thing i have seen today - first toddler smoking, next a chinese father auctioning their son off and chained him to a pole as he couldnt afford him anymore and now this

makes you wonder if these people really treasure their kids

I have ALOT of friends from Rockhampton on my Facebook, I was reading someone's status about this & apparently the Dad has a shared care arrangement with the Mum.
He had the bub on a day that he normally doesn't, he forgot to get the sleeping bub out of the car!
I can't imagine how horrible he must be feeling.

To quote my friend's status:

Quote :
May the little one lost yesterday to heaven, rest in peace!! Feeling for that poor mum... And may the dad be given the strength and support to forgive himself for such a fatal mistake Sad can't imagine how torturous every breathe is for those involved! May they all have strength and love to guide them thru!

Then someone asked what happened, and my friend replied:

Quote :
A dad had his baby on not usual day and got shopping out and forgot sleeping baby in car Sad. So sad and so horrific can't imagine how much he wood rather never open his eyes to reality again :/

I do feel bad for the dad he will have to live with that now but I don't understand how you can forget a baby sleeping in your car either..

I personally get Ruby and the kids out if they are sleeping I carry them in before I get the groceries out

RIP little one Sad

i dont understand how it can happen but i have been there late one night. I told skye to get out the car while i was carrying brianna in. It was late around 10pm or something when bri was a baby. Lach carried caitlin in and went to the bathroom. I thought skye had come in and went straight to bed. We all went to bed and didnt think to check on her. I asked lach if she was in and he said she was. Come midnight we heard crying at the door and it was her. I felt so bad and have never forgiven myself for it. She was around 4.5 yrs old and i should of thought more. But it was a stressfull night and late. I woke her and told her to go to bed in the car and i thought she followed me in. Needless to say i now always double check where they are at night and if they have gone to bed.

So in knowing that i know how easy it can happen if one is distracted enough
